Steve Abarta – Co-Founder and Director. Steve has a long and distinguished career as Vice President of Human Resources for several global public companies including Fiserv and Hitachi. He also brings his many other gifts such as editing, videography and audio engineering as well as publishing, purchasing and shipping. Now retired in Simi Valley, CA. Over the past 20 years, Steve with his wife Marianna, have served over 90 at-risk foster babies, most of them are medically fragile. They provide care for them until they can be placed in loving homes. They live in Simi Valley, California, and have four children.
Pastor Wes Harding – Director, has served churches in the roles of men’s pastor, and executive pastor, for the past 12 years. He brings this deep experience and passion for developing men to serve as our church leadership liaison, helping them prepare and kickoff our “Power Tools” (curricula) at their church. Before the pastorate, Wes was previously an entrepreneur and led sales and marketing for several national organizations. Wes has two sons, and lives in El Segundo, CA with his Jeri and daughter.
Art Hobba – Founder and Chairman, Art has a strong blending of business and pastoral leadership. He previously served in senior leadership roles for two NASDAQ Tech companies and Grant Thornton, LLP. As the founder of Transcende in 2001, Art created an science-based methodology that empowers leaders to increase both the productivity as well as job fulfillment for an entire organization. His Stage 6 Leadership a 6-9 month training process whereby you move towards leadership effectiveness one stage at a time, ending in leading like Jesus. In the 80’s Art was the Senior Pastor of two churches. Art’s passion for men to get “out of the stands and into the arena” led him to write Called to War, The Priest and The King, and Found Core 300, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Art lives in Agoura Hills, CA with his wife Sharon and has five sons.
Stephen Stebbins, Director and Assistant Treasurer
Steve is a Regional Vice President of Sales for Home.com. He is a gifted speaker for Iron Sharpens Iron events and oversees our accounting and AR/AP functions. He has two grown children and lives in Mission Viejo, California
John Vogel, Director and Treasurer
John Vogel serves Core 300 as Director of Development, with an emphasis in donor relations and fundraising efforts. He brings a strong background in finance and real estate development and currently owns Platinum Land Company, Inc. and serves as Sales Manager for Aldersgate Investment..His 35 years of experience in real estate development, marketing and sales, includes 13 years at World Savings Bank where he was the national Vice President of Sales
As a son of a pastor began walking with Christ as a young boy and he has served several churches in operations and in AWANA programs, He also provided local leadership for both Christian Businessmen’s Connection (CBMC) and Gideon’s International. He and his wife Bonnie live in Moorpark, California, and enjoy their two sons, daughter, and two grandchildren.
Harry Beeson, CPA – is a Sr. Partner of Romberger, Wilson and Beeson, and he has served and advised many Christian non-profit organizations and over 1,000 pastors for over 35 years. Harry help Core 300 with Development and advises us on both accounting and non-profit related operations. Harry lives with his wife in Glendale, CA.
Bill Conine – Bill professional career began with Sparrow Records to assume the position of V.P. of Sales and Marketing. In 1982, he formed Diamante Music Group which became the #1 independent Christian Music distributor in the industry. In 2002, he sold Diamante and took the position of V.P. for both Sales and Marketing for Strang Communications. In 2008, he became a Chair with Convene to serve Christian CEO’s and business owners to help grow their business, have greater leadership and Kingdom Impact.
Brian Doyle – As the Founder and President of Iron Sharpens Iron, Brian is one of the primary leaders of the men’s discipleship movement in the US. He brings deeply seasoned, and strategic wisdom to our leadership team, and we work with him in helping establishing an ISI presence in Southern California.
Chris Hayward – President, Cleansing Stream Ministries has lead CSM for 15 years and has shepherded their expansion into 25 countries with their materials translated into 5 languages. “Pastor Chris” has been a special advisor to our Founder Art Hobba.
Dr. Jack Hayford – Chancellor, The Kings University, has known Art Hobba for over 40 years and was his pastor and mentor for the first 15 of those years. “Pastor Jack” continues to mentor Art, and provide advisory experience for the Board of Directors. As a world renown educator, he has been critical in guiding Core 300 as an emerging go to resource for pastors and seminaries.
Marlin Summers, CPA – recently retired as CEO and Chairman of Kapco Aerospace, where his visionary and efficient leadership helped grow that organization over a period of 20 years to an international technology company many times it original size. Marlin helps provide both Wes Harding and Art Hobba advice and insights, as needed, throughout the year.
Dave Tofanelli – Director and Secretary. Dave is a leadership expert and serves the healthcare industry as a management consultant. A former senior executive at Wellpoint, he also is an adjunct Professor of Business at both Cal Lutheran and Biola Universities. Formerly a Naval Officer Special Forces officer, Dave, is also a published author of two books. One, Cancer, A Marriage and a Miracle, is for men. Dave brings his spiritual and business wisdom, and military organizational skills to our Board. He lives in High Point, North Carolina, with his wife.
*None of our leaders receive any income from their work at Core 300. We are all volunteers. All funds that are received from our valued donors and materials sales are reinvested back into improving and expanding line of cutting edge discipleship tools and expanding distribution.
